![]() ![]() His account is not even 4 months old, he is Steam level 1 and has 3 games (two FTP and Gmod) which seems even more suspicious, I'm thinking it may even be an alt account. Either because he was aware of the scheme, or he was just suspicious of a stranger who kept calling him 'baby' in every other message, Imgur user doadea knew exactly what to do when he got demands for iTunes gift cards. I know not everyone is like that though, and since this time the guy isn't giving me a good reason for his offer I'm wondering if he is dodgy but I'm drawing blanks on what kind of trick he may be trying to pull. For the last year police have been warning people to be alert to scammers demanding payments in the form of iTunes vouchers, after an 80-year-old woman was tricked out of 4,000. Or are there other ways this might be a scam? Once, about a year ago I got gifted a game out of the blue by someone I didn't know and it never got revoked or anything, I guess he was just a nice guy. I recently had an unfortunate encounter with a scammer named Sajiah Ali while searching for an online data entry job to supplement my nighttime income. I know that anything he sends may be revoked later and possibly cause my account to get locked, but that seems like a very petty thing to do and doesn't result in any real benefit to the would-be scammer. ![]() Sure, the idea of free games is appealing to everybody but when it's so one sided (or in the case of this guy, he does not give a good reason why he wants to send me a game) red flags are raised. What I am interested in, is reasons why this might be a scam. I'm not necessarily asking for advice on whether or not to accept the guy's offer, because I've seen enough threads asking for this type of advice. Almost immediately, this conversation took place. I figured I might know the guy so I accepted his request. Said friend is an IRL friend and not many of my real life friends link their Facebook to Steam so it's often hard to match profiles to names. Today I got a Steam friend request from a guy whom I have one mutual friend with.
